KainChiitoi's Generic Gear Progression Guide

This is a basic gear progression guide meant to somewhat guide you through the basic gears most people will be able to use! For in depth guide on a specific class, check online or something.

LEVEL 1

Ok so uhhh, you were given a knife when you start the game right? yeah thats good enough up until level 10, even 30.

If you got a sword or something from killing those porings, thats slightly better i guess.

LEVEL 10

Level 10 is when you can get your first set of Paradise Equipments! They all cost zennies and theyre pretty cheap. Grab your class specific weapons, and for the armors, here's the Basics "Hat, Suit, Manteau, Boots, Gloves and Necklace" are for Physical attack users, "Cap, Robe, Muffler, Shoes, Ring and Magic Ring" for the Magical attack users. Good enough til level 45 2nd Job.

LEVEL 45 - 2ND JOB

Not much to say here, grab your class' weapon and get on leveling! Ok maybe one thing i can say, theres 2 weapons per class here, each weapon boosts a different skill, so pick the one with the skill you want to use. There is no Paradise armor level 45, so just use the level 10 one. This weapon is good until level 100.

LEVEL 100

Classic Paradise, level 100 version. You can get your class weapon and advanced level 100 paradise armor. Good until level 200, no really, youre going to use it for that long, and quite possibly no other equipment is worth it.

The first appearance of Shadow equipments! what are shadow equipments? You know that you have a costume tab on your equipment list? Shadow equipments are special equipments that uses up your costume equip slot instead of normal equip slot. They uhhh, dont show up on your character, despite being on costumes... i mean maybe they do, its "Shadow" afterall, ooooh~ Anyways, these things are actually pretty powerful, these can bypass enemy defenses and magic defense, you for sure want them. The level 100 one can last until level 200, they require zelunium and shadowdecons to purchase, which you can get from mining.

LEVEL 200

A twist! before we upgrade your actual gear, shadow equipment is more important(and easier) to make! Get the Master shadow equipments now, they require significantly more zeluniums and shadowdecons, plus LT now, but theyre worth it! Unlike last time you need to refine these, all in all you want to have +27 refinement level in total for the whole set to get the big Defense and M.Defense bypass.

The weapon and shield is universal, the other 4 shadow equips are job based, buy the ones for your job! The total cost would be 600 Shadowdecons, 600 Zeluniums and 6 Light tickets.

Now that you are kitted with fresh new shadow stuffs, time to get your gaywolf set on! Go to the Armor progression NPC, top right of mall, talk to him, pick the graywolf (190) option.

Ok you are going to need to buy 5 gears from here, they don't sell helmets for some reason. It's gonna cost ya 500 Amethyst Fragments, 150 Zeluniums and 5 light tickets. Alright what now? You don't know where to get Amethyst Fragments? Oh, well, they drop from mobs in the oz dungeon, warp, Dungeons> Oz Labyrinth Dungeon> Oz Labyrinth Floor 1. Enemies are around level 190, they all drop Amethyst Fragments. Not strong enough? Try your best to get, refine and enchant the shoes first at least. To refine graywolf stuff up to +9, there is an easy way to do so if you dont want to gacha with materials. Go to mall, go up from the fountain, you will see some frail old lady with the name “Amethyst Exchanger”, Talk to her.

Here you can buy a refinement box for your graywolf set, it basically automatically refines your graywolf equipment to +7 or +9! No headache of refining included! Problem is, you need a lot of Amethyst Fragments, you need 3 boxes, and you want the +9 one for sure, so that's 6.750 Amethyst Fragments. And you want your Graywolf set to also be fully enchanted, all 5 gears. Using the perfect enchant method, one gear costs 1500 amethyst, so 5 gears would be 7.500 Amethyst Fragments.

So, to fully get the graywolf set, you are going to need 500 Amethyst Fragments to buy them from mall. 6.750 Amethyst fragments to fully +9 the armor, garment and footwear. 7.500 Amethyst fragments to fully enchant 5 pieces of gear. Totaling about 14.250 Amethyst Fragments! Well happy farming at the Oz Dungeon! (Alternatively you can ask around and someone might sell you some for zennies or other stuff, just chat up Vargeul the Varg-Mart guy if you need anything!)

LEVEL 250+

Okay from here on out, it wont be level based, but based on how difficult it is to make and if its worth the price and work or not.

[WEAPON] TIME DIMENSION WEAPON (EASIEST) (WORTH IT)

Time dimension weapon is the easiest endgame weapon you can get, and you should probably aim for it if your other options is too hard, its sold in the weapon progression NPC in mall, the price is reasonable and its easy to upgrade. The best part about this is the fact that the weapons do drop from monsters, easily too might i add! So you might be able to see someone selling such weapons for dirt cheap.

What makes the time dimension weapon the easiest to get and upgrade isnt just the availability and price.

Its this thing! The magic box that can refine your time dimension weapon from +9 to +10 to +11 to +12. Making it super easy to grade up strengthen. Now the question is, where do you get these boxes? what the heck is an Abyss Magic Jewel and Time Dimension Magic Jewel? Funny thing is, these Items, Materials, the box and weapons actually drop at the same place from the same enemies! Bad news is, you wont be able to do anything to these enemies at this point. If you wanna know where, its Varmundt Depth 2, every enemy drops these boxes, weapons and materials, but theyre not enemies you should touch without a fully kitted high refined grade A equipments.

Why did i say that its the easiest then? For one, the weapon itself people will sell cheaply, you dont necessarily need the boxes to improve the weapon, and its compatible with our next gear. But even with all of that, it can still get easier, because im selling the full package of 1 Time Dimension Weapon of your choice, 7 refinement box, 70 Abyss Magic Jewel and 70 Time Dimension Magic Jewel, all for 50 BSB, this will greatly help you if youre planning on making one of these weapons, and trust me, youre going to lose way more than 50 BSB if youre planning on refining this manually, so why not give it to me and enjoy your easy worry free refinings? hehe. To buy this set, just contact me on the game if im online, or alternatively you can also use the Varg-Mart, just contact Vargeul in the game and he will pretty much offer the same price.

[HEADGEAR] TIME DIMENSION RUNE CROWN (VERY EASY) (WORTH IT)

Time dimension rune crown is the headgear that combo's nicely with a time dimension weapon, the effect can often be just that good enough to last until the endgame content. Getting it is also quite simple, it doesnt drop from enemies like the weapon does, but the materials are quite easy, the 25 of each Abyss Magic Jewel and Time Dimension Magic Jewel i already told you about, the 5 Temporal gemstone drops from the daily instance called "Old Glast Heim Challenge" (Note if you want me to make a guide for instances, say "Hachimi Mambo" on discord global, if enough people say it, i might consider doing it). The Shadowdecons and Zeluniums are self explanatory, so is the Light Ticket, these are mining drops.

The reason i put this on the easier side is because i will be selling these (25 Abyss Magic Jewel, 25 Time Dimension Magic Jewel and 5 Temporal Fragment) for 5 LT! The price is set by our forefather and founder of the Rune Crown Sect, The Great Marheaven, ever so generous, price is set very cheap. Contact me in game if you wanna buy this set, or as usual, Vargeul from Varg-Mart.

[HEADGEAR MIDDLE+LOWER] MOB SCARF + SUNGLASSES (EASY) (WORTH IT)

The Mob Scarf + Sunglasses combo is easily the best Middle and Lower headgears around, the effect is actually really strong compared to the cost, it is easily obtained from the Armor progression NPC at mall. Like really, 360 MATK isnt nothing when your MATK is usually at 1k or something, and thats only a small part of the effects, and the price? around 400 Zelu, 400 Shadow and 11 LT for both, very cheap and really good overall.

[HEADGEAR MIDDLE+LOWER] GAMBLERS SEAL + CARD (MEDIUM - VERY HARD) (MAYBE WORTH IT)

Okay, your guide might have specifically offered this set for middle and lower headgear, but in my opinion, this set is lower than the mob scarf combo. Ideally, if you can get the best enchants for this set, it is better than the mob scarf combo, however, why did i put it below the mob scarf combo? its because of the cost. You might be asking, the cost is just 20 LT, compared to the mob scarf 11LT its not that bad right? WRONG! The terrible cost isnt from buying the gear itself, but its in the enchanting cost of the gear.

To enchant it, you need these coins, which you can only buy with Nyangvine's. You can only buy Nyangvines from the cash shop, 100 cash point or 50LT for 10. So you get 5 tries of enchant gacha per 50LT, out of all the effects you can get from the coin, only 3 out of 13 is good enough, so you have about 23% chance to get one good enchantment, well you need 2 at the same time, thats 5% chance. Ok so if you do the gacha 20 times, you can get the good enchant right? Thats 200LT for the cost, but wait, did i not mention that even the values of the enchantments is also random? so if you somehow got like 2 S.matk enchantments on your gear, each S.matk enchantments can be anywhere from 1 to 5 and the chances of you getting both at 5 on top of gachaing the S.matk enchantments itself is uhhh, i dont wanna count it.

Did i not mention you need to do the enchantments for both headgears? Yes, the enchantment on the card is easier since you only need to get one good enchantment, but thats still pretty bad yeah?

[ACCESSORY LEFT] OVERDRIVE RAMPAGE (EASY) (REALLY WORTH IT)

Look, i dont know what your guide is gonna recommend for your Left accessory, but what i would recommend is the OVERDRIVE RAMPAGE! No matter what your guide recommends, its most likely not gonna beat Overdrive rampage, i mean have you seen the stats? 1% Matk for each 5 base level, thats 55% on level 275, totaling up to 70% ATK and MATK, insane value for just a small accessory! Look i know that 800 Shadowdecons, 800 Zeluniums, 100 Light tickets AND 750 Million zeny is a lot. But how you get these is pretty simple, you mine in the mines, then farm some money, its easy. What you get is an absolutely busted left accessory you didnt even know you had the choice of getting. As for the right accessory, whatever your guide says its probably not worth it either, check the Armor Progression NPC for a good right side accessory that you can use.

[SHIELD] MAD BUNNY - LT (SOMEWHAT EASY) (WORTH IT)

If you use a shield, this is pretty much what everyone recommends, and its quite easy to get here too. Yeah i know people might complain that i put this in the "Somewhat Easy" difficulty, but the worst part is just getting the base mad bunny to +12, and trust me, its not that bad in the end compared to the actually terrible items to get later.

[SHADOW EQUIPS] FULL TEMPEST/PENETRATION SET (MEDIUM) (REALLY WORTH IT)

The Full Tempest/Penetration shadow equip set is definitely worth making, remember the full Master shadow equips you had to make on level 200? yeah this set condenses it all into 2 gears. The combination of Armor+Shoes or Pendant+Earring already gives you full defense/m.defense penetration, so that leaves 4 shadow equip slots for whatever you need, and at the endgame, most shadow equip sets requires only 2 piece of the gear to be optimal, which means you will have 3 sets of shadow equipment going at the same time. The bad news is that making it is kind of a pain, and you need +18 on both shadow equip to enjoy this effect, that means refining both your shadow equips to at least +9, or one of em at +10 and the other at +8.

You can get the base Tempest/Penetration set from the cash shop, at 100 points per set, yes its per set, either the armor+shoe or pendant+earrings. Then you exchange it with the shadow equip guy, which is 50 LT per gear, so thats 100LT for both. Not to mention to upgrade it, you might want to +10 it, because the effect is actually pretty nice, but to +10 a shadow equip, you need a low level ore from mining, the chances of success are low and you cant protect yourself from failure with blacksmith's blessing.

Another easier, but more painful way to get +10 on shadow equips is to use a Hollgrehenn hammer. This item basically randomizes your shadow equips refinement level, from +1 to +10, and yes it is random, so you might need to use a lot to get even one +10 gear. But hey honestly its better than suffering through the normal refinement.

[ARMOR] ENGRAVED VARMUNDT RUNE ARMOR (MEDIUM - HARD) (REALLY WORTH IT)

The Engraved Varmundt Rune Armors, one of these is almost for sure your goal for the endgame armor, as they are all mostly used for different builds and purposes, you can somewhat customize their enchantments and you dont have to gacha the enchantments. As an example, to create and fully enchant a single Engraved Soul Purification Rune Robe, you are going to need: -580x Deep Soul Rune -295x Deep Soul Essence -410x Deep Soul Crystal -150x Deep Soul Energy -580x Deep Purification Rune -295x Deep Purification Essence -410x Deep Purification Crystal -150x Deep Purification Energy -500x Temple Rune -345x Temple Rune Fragment -285x Temple Essence -500x Soul Rune -345x Soul Rune Fragment -285x Soul Essence

Now, does it seem like a lot? because it is a lot, most endgame gears are going to be at least this painful to make from now on, but i guarantee the Armor is worth it. What if you want to make a different Armor instead of the Engraved Soul Purification Rune Robe? You can still use the numbers above, just change the runes slightly, because different armor requires different runes.

You can get all of these runes and essences at Varmundt Depth 1. This is a gear progression guide, if you have been following this guide so far, you should have a +12 grade A dimension weapon, crown, Full Tempest/Penetration Shadow set and a Rampage overdrive. Most likely you should be able to farm these on your own. However, if you feel like you have too much BSB on your hand and too little time to farm these, im always selling the full set of all the runes and essences required for 400 BSB per set. Keep in mind that farming these things takes a long long time, so i might not immediately have all of the materials you need, in which case you can either wait til im done aka Pre order it, farm it yourself or Buy it from Vargeul, the Varg-Mart man.

[GARMENT + SHOES] RUNE MANTEAU + BOOTS (MEDIUM - HARD) (SOMEWHAT WORTH IT)

The Varmundt rune set, AKA the Armor, Manteau and Boots. These are somewhat worth it, the armor is only worth it if you really want the benefits of the full set, if not then just use the engraved armor and supplement it with rune boots and manteau.

The reason why i consider it somewhat worth it is because the effects is actually pretty nice and helpful and how you make plus fully enchant it isnt nearly as bad as the engraved armor. The most painful part of the cost is the essences required to craft the equipment and the essences required to upgrade the 2nd enchant, the 1st an 3rd enchant isnt that important but still useful.

The 100 Upgrade stones basically equates to 2700 Shadowdecons, you can exchange these from the maid lady on top of the enchant genie, 2700 Shadowdecons into 2700 lower stone, into 900 medium stone, into 300 intermediate stone, into 100 superior stones. The runes and essences drops from enemis in Varmundt depth 1.

[WEAPON] TIME GAP WEAPON (HARD) (WORTH IT)

Time gap weapons are a different breed of dimension weapons, it still combo's well with the time dimension crown and is just basically an alternative to the usual dimension weapon, featuring buffs to a different skill compared to the dimension weapon. It is definitely worth it to make if you use the specific skills it boosts, but compared to the usual dimension weapon, it is definitely way harder to make.

The weapon doesnt drop from any mobs, it requires numerous other weapons at refine level 10, a drop only weapon an 1000 materials that is quite difficult and annoying to farm. While it does have a similar refine boosting item, the Time Gap Refine Hammer, it is not worth it to make and use, not only does it need items from Varmundt depth 2, it also requires a Time Dimension Magic Rune, which is a material that is created with a lot of difficult and annoying daily instances, it is simply not worth it to use the hammer.

To create a time gap weapon, you need 1000 of a certain element material things, those only drops from Nightmare Pumpkin Farm map, you cannot auto it, and the enemies hit somewhat hard even if you are fully built. While i would offer the "Ill sell it to you for BSB!" talk, this one is honestly too much work for me and i dont want to do it haha. Vargeul from Varg-Mart might help you on this.

[GARMENT] ROYAL CAPES (EASY - HARD) (REALLY WORTH IT)

The royal capes is an assortment of Royal themed capes, only available from the cash shop, so yes it is a cash shop only item. It is obtainable from the Kachua Box 1 and Light OCP Box 1, of the two, Kachua Box will always be available in the Cash Shop. These capes are, in my opinion, the best option you have for garment, as the effect is more often than not insanely good, a single cape at +15 grade A can and most likely will double your damage, yes its a single gear, and if the cape really suits your build, it can even triple your damage. It is just that busted.

While it is a Cash shop only item, theres a couple of ways you can get it, the classic way is to collect 250 LT, exchange it to 500 Cash point and buy one box, praying you get a cape, this is the hard way.

Collecting 1000 BSB and buying it from someone is the medium difficulty way. Most cash shop only items will have a standard price of 1000 BSB when traded, but since this isnt a price thats totally set in stone, people can always charge more or less depending on item availability and other things.

The easy way to get the cape is, well since it is a cash only item, you can always pay real money for cash points. Theres also extra incentives to buying these cash points, in extra rewards, more importantly the 5x unknown item from buying the 25$ package is 5 OCP Box 1, which has the chance to give you a cape when you open it, testimony from a certain player who shall not be named, he got 2 capes out of the 5 boxes. If the cape you got isnt the one that you want, you can always sell it to someone or trade it with someone else, keeping the cape market alive.

[ACCESSORY RIGHT] ROYAL NECKLACE (MEDIUM - VERY HARD) (REALLY WORTH IT)

The fabled Royal Necklace, an insanely busted Accessory that gets even more busted when paired with a royal cape. I honestly dont know what to say about this, its busted, period, in that small screenshot i show you it already looks busted, and if you have the cape, its doubly busted idk man.

Now getting it is the annoyingly difficult part, as of writing this, you can only get this from OCP Box 3, about 140 Cash points per box at 1% chance, if theres anything for you break the bank for, id say its this, since its OCP Box 3, the price is actually not bad too.

If you want to buy it without using cash points, the classic price is as usual 1k BSB, but as of now, no one is really selling it, everyone is looking for it for themselves. The price is gonna jump up very high, if anyone would sell it, the price might be some absurd amount of bsb or some rare items. If you did get it or someone did sell it to you for a reasonable price, consider yourself lucky.

Bonus section on this, you didnt hear it from me, but there might be a possibility of getting this item using a way easier method sometime in the future, so dont get swept up in the insane prices people would sell it for, you might regret it. 😉

[KACHUA] KACHUA ITEMS (MEDIUM) (VARYING WORTH)

This section is specifically about the items you can get from the Kachua boxes, only the ones i think is at least worth it will be mentioned, there wont be a specific long explanation or anything, but i will provide a short explanation as to why its worth it.

KACHUA BOX 1 -Royal Capes(Really Worth it) - Already explained above, its busted as hell. -Vesper Headgear(Worth it) - A lot of classes actually uses these as an endgame helmet compared to the alternatives. -Moan of Corruption(Worth it) - Magic shoes for magic users, if you are a magic user, chances are your guide will tell you to get this. Theres another way of getting this item other than Kachua box, but its very difficult.

Box 1 is really stacked, tons of good hits if you want to buy it.

KACHUA BOX 2 -Astrologer's Dawn Boots(Worth it) - Slightly better than Moan of Corruption for magic users, also usable for physical users, but the caveat is that you need to have a somewhat decently enchanted Nebula Armor, and thats no easy feat.

Box 2 is pretty anemic, nothing really good is in it other than the Boots.

KACHUA BOX 3 -Legendary Dragon Shoes(Really Worth it) - Currently the most busted shoe in the game, absolutely evil stats, works for both magic and physical users.

Box 3 is back to being stacked again, but its very specifically stacked, as in tons of good items but theyre mostly class specific.

[ETC] THE TERRIBLE ITEMS (MIGHT AS WELL NOT TRY) (NOT WORTH IT)

If youre wondering where's the item your guide is peddling and why is it not on the list, its probably because theyre actually pretty terrible in this game, not as in stats, but mostly on how you get it and how you can maximize its potential, most of these items requires extreme grinds and daily farming with middling to just downright bad worth compared to the items ive listed above.

[WEAPONS] DIM GLACIER (VERY HARD) (MOST LIKELY NOT WORTH IT)

The dim glacier weapons are probably not worth it. Its the least offensive out of the rest of this not worth it list, but its here for a reason. If your guide suggests using one of these, well i pity you.

Getting a dim glacier weapon is easy enough, almost any enemy in issgard dungeon will drop one, the drop rate is pretty high, the weapon that drops depends on which map you farmed it from.

The annoying part and the reason why the dim glacier weapon is in this section is the enchant materials, thankfully the enchanting part itself is not bad, you can select the enchantments that you want, but getting the enchantment material is the hellish part.

To get the enchantment materials, you need to farm more dim glacier weapons, bring them all into an extractor and exchange all of it into some materials. The weight of the weapon is the main problem, the weight can range between 160 to 700, so if your character only has a weight limit of 8k, you can at best carry 11 of these weapons to the extractor, yes you can put these in your storage, but putting the weapons all in your storage, then pulling it out to extract, then pulling it out again, then pulling it out again, yeah that gets tiring real fast.

Recently, an update to help make this equipment a bit less annoying dropped. Now you can also get a box filled with 1 of the weapon, weighing at 100. This does help making it slightly easier for people to make a dim glacier weapon, but it is basically giving you a cup to empty a well instead of nothing. Its still tedious and annoying, and if your guide only has 1 option for an endgame weapon and its a dim glacier weapon, well god bless your soul.

[ACCESSORIES LEFT & RIGHT] VARMUNDT RUNE RINGS (MONTH LONG CHORE) (NOT WORTH IT)

The Varmundt Rune Ring accessories are definitely not worth it. Making it is an insanely annoying chore, while enchanting it to get the best enchantments is basically madness. If you somehow got past through the 2700 shadowdecons requirement, the 10 specific evil waters and the rest of the mats, congrats, you have the base accessory! To enchant it to become somewhat usable, you need even more essences and evil waters, which will take you hours upon hours just to, guess what, GACHA the enchantments! Imagine spending hours upon hours farming in Varmundt depth 1, only to perform the funky enchantment gacha, just to get a terrible enchantment you cant even use.

Now imagine after days of farming Varmundt depth 1, you finally get the good enchantments you want, but the level is absolutely terrible, guess what, you CANT upgrade the enchantments, your only option, is to gacha it again! Absolute bonkers, madness even. I did complain about this a long time ago, how these rings enchantments should be upgradable, but as of now, its still not possible.

I... made 2 of these rings... both are mid as heck, i spent a lot of time farming Varmundt depth 1 for both, literal days, imagine how i feel when i found out about the Overdrive Rampage being sold in Armor progression NPC, imagine how i feel when i bought it, used it and it turns out to be infinitely way better than the damn rings i spent days making... TLDR, give up on these rings, go buy an overdrive rampage, dont waste your time on this.

[ARMOR + ACCESSORY RIGHT] NEBULA ARMOR AND STAR SEALS (JUST WAIT) (NOT WORTH IT FOR NOW)

The Nebula gears, surprised to see such a beloved most likely in every endgame build armor in the not worth it section? Well it has the same problem as the other junks in this section, Gacha enchants, cant upgrade the enchants. Simple really, since you can only gacha the enchantments and not upgrade them, and you can only get the enchantment materials once per day from the annoying long as heck Constellation Tower, AND you get barely enough to gacha the enchantment ONCE per day, it means the chances of you getting a full well enchanted nebula armor is basically... never.

As for the star seal, we dont even have a way to get the enchantment materials yet. Again, im not saying that you shouldnt aim for Nebula stuff, im saying that you should do the instance daily, hoard the materials and wait until they updated and or fixed the enchantment system so that you dont have to suffer through the impossible enchantment gacha.

[GARMENT + ACCESSORY LEFT] CIRCULATION ITEMS (MAYBE YOU'LL GET IT NEXT YEAR) (NOT WORTH IT)

The Beast Manteaus and Circulation Signets, similar problems with Nebula stuff. Way too much and way too long of a grind, the problem is slightly different compared to the nebula stuff, the problem comes from the amount of items you need to enchant them... Whenever you finish Lake of fire, a once a day instance, you get 10 energy of a certain season, the energy you get depends on the boss you fight, which is randomized.

So uhh... this is the materials you need to enchant the signet part, energy alone, youd need to do lake of fire for at least 80 days... and thats if you get an equal amount of Winter, Fall, Summer and Spring bosses... I dont even wanna talk about the other materials. Let me just say this, in the end, is it worth it? compared to the busted as hell royal necklace and royal cape? no.

Math Provided by Vargeul, according to him, this is the list of items needed to make a single Fall season garment: 1964x Energy of Autumn 56x Leaf of Maple Tree 56x Branch of Maple Tree 56x Bark Piece of Maple Tree

800x Energy of Fire 800x Energy of Earth

100x Grace of Spirit

838x Circulation of Life (1001456) 288x Fruit of Birth (1001457) 288x Fruit of Extinction (1001458) 248x Truth of Life (1001459) 145x Light of Life (1001460) 150x Energy of Elemental (1001600) 50x Genesis of Life (1001601)

According to Vargeul its going to take about a year full of Instances daily. Yeah i aint doing that.

**CHAPTER 1 ITEMS ARE NOT AVAILABLE YET**
